José Mauro de Vasconcelos

 José Mauro de Vasconcelos (1920-1984)., mestizo of an indigenous mother and Portuguese father, was born on February 26, 1920 in Bangú, Rio de Janeiro, in the middle of extreme poverty, he did all kinds of work to survive , from trainer of boxers to pawn of "fazenda", from fisherman to school teacher, all in a frame of constant pilgrimage: "My years of swing between the Brazilian north and south", according to he defined them. His periods of cohabitation with the Indians marked him and gave him the gift of writing with a deeper tradition rooted in tradition: "I do not expect anything, so I am not disappointed"
